You are invited to attend our district’s Rotary Foundation seminar scheduled on August 14, 2010. It will be held at the Bailey Auditorium on the campus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (AB Tech) in Asheville. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Danish and coffee provided. The opening session will start at 9:30 a.m. The seminar will end at 12:30 p.m. with lunch.
The seminar is designed to provide support and encouragement early in the Rotary year in one of the most important areas of responsibility we have as club and district leaders, promoting and building better understanding of The Rotary Foundation. We are very excited to have Jay D. (Rocky) Jacobs as our keynote speaker for this event. Rocky is our Rotary Zone’s Coord-inator of the Polio Plus Challenge. He has spoken at training assemblies in previous years in our district and has always been well received. In addition, Jackie McGuire, who is the Major Gifts Officer for The Rotary Foundation will be with us. She brings skills in helping with giving to the Foundation through tax-advantaged estate planning.
The registration fee for the seminar is $20 per conferee and registration will be online. You can access the registration form through the following link Details for registering are outlined on the form which also includes directions to AB Tech. If you have any questions or experience difficulty in registering, please contact either of us or Margaret Gormley Chapman at the District Office.
The seminar is structured to help you gain a better understanding of how to participate in the programs of the Foundation and how to best stimulate support for it in your clubs and is open to all Rotarians. However, club Presidents and Presidents-elect, club Foundation chairs and champions, International Service chairs, club Secretaries and Treasurers, Assistant Governors, and District leadership are particularly encouraged to attend. Please make every effort to ensure your club is represented at this very important district meeting.
We are sincerely looking forward to working with each of you and your club Foundation leaders. The Rotary Foundation is “Our Charity” which with our support can truly help us in our work of “Building Communities and Bridging Continents”. See you on August 14th.
